Pietersite is sometimes referred to as "Eagles Eye Chalcedony" (Quartz), as it is a fusion of Gold and Blue Tiger's Eye, as well as Quartz and Jasper creating a captivating array of colours from deep blues and golden browns, to greys and reds. It was discovered in Namibia, and has only been found in one other place - the Hunan province of China. It has a Mohs hardness of 6.5 to 7.
