This one-of-a-kind Noreena Jasper pendant features an elongated oval cabochon patterned in warm terracotta red, burnt orange, ochre and soft cream. Fine linear markings divide the stone into abstract geometric forms, creating the impression of an ancient map, weathered landscape or fragments of earth viewed from above.

Set simply in sterling silver, the clean frame allows the unusual patterning and earthy palette to remain the focus. Its generous size gives the pendant a strong presence, while its elongated shape and warm natural colours make it an especially distinctive piece of Australian gemstone jewellery.

About Noreena Jasper

Noreena Jasper is a rare Australian ornamental stone found in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, near the mining town of Newman. Despite its familiar trade name, it is more precisely described as a silicified pelite, a fine-grained sedimentary rock derived from ancient mudstone.

It occurs within the Jeerinah Formation of the Fortescue Group, among rocks formed more than 2.6 billion years ago during the late Archean period. Noreena Jasper comes from the same geological formation as Munjina Stone, another distinctive patterned material from the Pilbara.

The stone naturally breaks into angular fragments, creating the geometric lines and abstract designs for which it is known. Its internal pattern is hidden until the rough material is cut and polished, meaning every finished cabochon reveals a completely individual composition.

Noreena Jasper Meaning and Properties

Noreena Jasper is traditionally associated with grounding, steadiness and connection with the ancient Earth. Its structured patterns can serve as a reminder that even periods of change and fragmentation can become part of a larger, more meaningful design.

Its energy is often connected with resilience, practical clarity and moving through change one grounded step at a time. Noreena Jasper may be a supportive companion when creating new structures, restoring order or translating ideas into something tangible and sustainable.

Its warm red and ochre tones also connect it with embodiment and grounded vitality. Rather than encouraging rushed action, Noreena Jasper carries a slower, steadier energy that supports purposeful movement while remaining anchored in the body and the present moment.
